Frequently Asked Questions
The course, mentorship, and community: who is this all for?
Quick Answer:
- those craving more income, impact, time freedom, schedule flexibility, and/or autonomy in their career and aren't wanting to leave the profession they worked so hard to be apart of
- practitioners who have experienced burnout or feel like they have become a hamster on a wheel, going through the motion’s day in and day out
- those looking for more in their career and are interested in starting their own side business
- practitioners who have aspirations of clinic ownership in the future, but are concerned about their lack of business knowledge
- new graduates or practitioners who have moved clinics or cities looking to learn the practical strategies and tactics to grow
- clinic-practitioners, full-time and part-time, who are preparing for contract negotiations
- every practitioner who has realized the lack of a concrete business foundation has been holding them back from a career they thrive in
Detailed Explanation:
- practitioners who have experienced burnout or feel like they have become a hamster on a wheel, going through the motion’s day in and day out. Rather than just keeping our heads above water and managing our current circumstances we can be the creators of our careers and our lifestyle. Yes, even in healthcare. We simply need to be shown what else is available to us and given the roadmap to achieve it
- those craving more income, impact, time freedom, schedule flexibility, and autonomy in their career and aren't wanting to leave the profession they were once so passionate about and worked hard to be apart of
- clinic-practitioners, full-time and part-time, who enjoy their team and clinic setting and want to learn to leverage more through developing their business foundation, contract structures/negotiations, marketing and selling strategy (sales doesn't need to sound sleazy to us in healthcare. It's simply the term used for us helping new and repeat clients, pricing strategy, etc.) Here you will learn how to utilize these income levers through easily implemented systems into your day-to-day practice
- practitioners interested in opening up their own side business- my personal favourite being "YOUR NEXT PRACTICE" This could be renting an office in a clinic or gym, setting up a treatment room in your home, a practice out of your garage, or my personal favourite: adopting the Home Visit Business Model. **We will cover all of the very real industry side hustles available to us (spoiler alert: we have the ability to go online and work from home while increasing the impact we have with our clients. The reason I am such a big proponent for offering home visits initially is the spark it ignites in practitioners and the speed in which it sets them on a new trajectory. It's the fastest way I've found to make the switch in practitioner's who are operating with an employee mindset, even for those who have been self-employed for years, to starting to view their practice through the lens of a business. I prefer processes that are easy to implement and results that are very tangible. It might be why I'm such a huge dry needling fan. To trial this model it only requires you to purchase a table and transfer the exact same skillset you already have, now in someone's home. This isn't "Home Health" where much of the time you're dealing with agencies as an acute care practitioner or are a glorified care aide (much needed, but not what we're talking about here). However, please don't get caught up on the location or even the vehicle service delivery for now. Again, this next practice can initially be offered in a room in your home, your garage, or renting an office in a co-op style clinic or gym to finally get a taste of building something that is truly your own. The model offers such a low barrier to entry because you are simply taking the amazing work you already do in the clinic setting and switching the location without spending time developing new systems. That next step will come when you're ready for it and for those who are ready now LET'S GO! Change is hard for so many, I see it with every single practitioner I've worked with, and to make a meaningful impact and shift from the traditional way of doing things we need to start with a step that is easier to take to build momentum in this new direction... watch what unfolds with these small weekly steps! I always recommend starting as a Side Hustle. This could be as simple as 1 client/week, 1 client/bi-weekly, 1 client/monthly. Once your first client pays you 100% in cash with no direct billing, no waiting to be paid, no dealing with declining reimbursement rates, no splitting any of this revenue with a clinic, no payment processing fees (until you choose to grow), one of the lowest overheads/operating costs in the industry, combined with the most you have charged in your career due to the premium nature of the service... you won't forget that feeling. And as many practitioners do, they start trading clinic hours for their side hustle. Watch the demand with both practices increase. It’s a thing of beauty**
- new graduates or practitioners who have just moved clinics or cities looking to learn the practical strategies and tactics to grow, setting them up to earn the most they have in their career to date, while creating more autonomy
- practitioners who have aspirations of clinic ownership in the future, but are concerned about their lack of business knowledge. The skills you'll learn in this community, structuring your clinic practice as a business, starting a side business, having these systems and processes dialled in first with such a minimal start-up investment and incredibly low risk business model will set the foundation for your future growth plans. Again, while I'm a big proponent for the home visit model, we will cover all of the viable side hustles available to us in private healthcare- sign up for Practitioner Provisions for a full list of industry side hustles

while PT’s and massage therapists are the large majority of practitioners I've worked with (because A. I know these disciplines inside and out B. When you market it's important to speak to your ideal client), however the concepts and frameworks are the same. I have worked with chiropractors, osteopaths, and acupuncturists. All are welcome. All you need to get the most value out of this community is to put in the work, progress over perfection, don't give up, and truly take action on what you learn, sweet sweet imperfect action through daily and weekly habits to move the needle in your career. You got this and the community will be here to support you!
**This community and messaging will hit home for many, but it isn't going to be for everyone. It's not meant to be. If none of this resonates, that's okay. If you're reading this thinking I'm looking for more, but "I don't think this is it" or "for whatever reason I'm just not a fan of that guy" you can even shoot me a message and I'll see if I can send you in the right direction (and nope, I won't try to talk you into joining the community, I don't force anything in life. You can't be everything to everyone and that should never be our goal. If it works, it works). Just like in our practices we aren't going to be the best fit for everyone and we should build the confidence to refer accordingly. SideHustle.health was developed to help as many practitioners as I can and it doesn't have to mean we work together. We're still colleagues who are looking for more and if I can add increase in your life/career in any way I'm going to try!**
I'm not interested in building a side business, will this community still benefit me?
Absolutely. This course is designed to be the business, marketing, mindset, pricing, sales, negotiation, growth strategy, and more, we all missed in our education. By taking this course and joining this community you will learn to leverage more in your career as a clinician. The business skills, repeatable processes, strategies, and tactics you acquire will serve both you and your clients long-term.
